You’ve learned how to get started on coming up with the perfect annual salary guide here. In this video, Allied Insight Founder and CEO Jeff Pelliccio follows up on the discussion with how meaningful curation can make a world of difference in adding value to the salary guides you create.

The goal of creating a salary guide is not just to produce salaries and bore people. If you want your audience to care about the content of your salary guide, you have to provide them with meaningful insights that talk about matters that are relevant and important to them such as market trends or changes that are taking place in the market. Here are some tips on how to provide that value.

First, curate all of your internal information. With enough volume and resources, you can come up with content that relates what’s taking place in the market to what’s happening within your agency. Look at your placements, time to hire, and anecdotal evidence from the frontline sales and recruitment teams to understand how your processes play out in real-time.

Second, survey your database. This gives you another touch point that isn’t asking for business and opens the door for feedback. You may also give out additional value such as access to raw data or sending out reports early. You are free to decide how to go about this in the way that makes the most sense for your staffing agency.

Next, you can tap into resources and analytics outside of your staffing firm. There are a lot of companies and organizations that can provide tools you can use to provide insight into your salary guide. Whichever route you take, make sure that you are providing value that’s authentic, relevant, and meaningful.
